«Batió un récord», dijeron en el hospital El Cruce (HEC).
Franco Rigo (65 años) fue diagnosticado con bronquitis durante enero. Le realizaron dos hisopados para determinar si era Covid-19 pero dieron negativo hasta que su estado desmejoró. Fue internado en una clínica y determinaron que sí era Covid-19 padecía una neumonía bilateral y dada la gravedad lo derivaron al HEC. Franco llegó el 21 de enero estuvo internado siete meses en terapia intensiva, de los cuales cuatro estuvo en coma farmacológico.
Franco es el paciente que más tiempo estuvo internado por Covid-19 en el hospital.
«Transitó varias neumonías, le realizaron diálisis, transfusiones de sangre y padeció problemas cardiológicos y eso que mi esposo era una persona sin problemas previos de salud. Solo palabras de agradecimiento tengo para todo el equipo de salud del HEC que le salvaron la vida»

Después de una larga lucha, dolor e incertidumbre, Franco fue dado de alta el 21 de agosto. En la puerta del Hospital lo esperaban su familia y amigos.
Su estado mejora poco a poco pero aún no puede pararse por sus propios medios. Debido a su larga internación perdió masa muscular y necesita rehabilitarse. El domingo, su familia lo agasajó con un asado como era de costumbre juntarse en el quincho. Estuvo su esposa Alejandra, sus hijos Gabriel, Nicolás y Sofía, las nueras Rocío, Camila, su yerno Lucas y hasta su mascota Java.
La familia Rigo quiere agradecer al equipo de salud que atendió a Franco y en especial a los Dres. Vázquez, Ciano, Lage, Palermo y a los profesionales de Terapia Intensiva; a los kinesiólogos Caro, Noe, Vale (el hospital no dio los apellidos) y al personal de enfermería, en especial a Alejandra, Lucas y María, de Clínica Médica, al Dr. Jáuregui y a la Dra. Beatriz Carballeira, de Cuidados Humanizados.
